State Bound Pep Assembly for WHS Wrestling, Swim and Dance Teams

A state bound pep assembly for the wrestling, girls swimming and dance teams was held at Washington High School on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 14.

Each program was recognized during the school wide assembly.

Four members of the Washington wrestling team competes at the MSHSAA Wrestling Championships Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 15-17, at Mizzou Arena in Columbia.

Representing the Blue Jays will be Tate Hendricks, Michael Boehlein, Dana Cates and Gunnar Noud. Coaches are Josh Ohm, Paul LaVigne, Kurt Hey, Joe Callahan, Doug Hanify and Nick Hanify.

Four members of the Washington girls swim team competes at the MSHSAA Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday-Saturday, Feb. 15-17, at the Rec-Plex in St. Peters.

Representing the Lady Jays in the pool will be Aubrie Moreland, McKenzie Dohm, Madeline Tchiblakian and Hannah Struckoff. The four of them will compete in the 400-meter relay. Moreland also will compete in the 200-meter and the 500-meter events. Coaches are Lane Page and Samantha Loepker.

The Jaywalkers Dance Team competes at the Missouri Dance Team Association State Championships Saturday, Feb. 24, at the St. Charles Family Arena.

Representing WHS on the dance team will be Rachel Bauche, Michelle Dew, Megan Duncan, Campbell Hamai, Gabriella Henzel, Sarah Hoemann, Lydia Lock, Andrea Kampschroeder, Natalie Nothum, Katie Rushing, Anna Schneider, Elise Thierbach, Katie Tyree and Grace Ziglin. Coaches are Jo Phinney and Amy Oesterly.
