Washington Girls Win at Liberty, Boys Fall Short

Washington High School’s varsity and junior varsity girls and boys basketball teams played in GAC Central action at Wentzville Liberty High School on Friday, Feb. 9.

Washington’s boys and girls junior varsity teams both defeated Liberty.

In varsity action, Washington defeated Liberty in the girls game, 67-31. The boys game went Liberty’s way in a 64-41 win over the Blue Jays.

The highlight of the varsity girls game was Washington senior Nichole Brinker reaching 1,000 points for her career. Brinker joins Reese Arnold and Jackie Arnold as 1,000-point scorers on the Washington girls team.

Brooke Robinson had the hot hand for Washington against Liberty, knocking down five three-pointers and finishing the game with 19 points. Jackie Arnold scored 22 points to pace Washington. Reese Arnold added 10 points. Brinker had nine points, eight rebounds and seven assists.

Conlan Jarvis and Ryan Hoerstkamp both scored 10 points to pace Washington’s boys against Liberty. Cason Suggs, Zach Subke and Ty Rinne each added five points.
